Shannon shares her thoughts on simplifying everything in order to do or have more. She argues that in our fast-paced world, we often feel overwhelmed and stressed out by the endless to-do lists and constant distractions. Shannon interviews Jessica and Julie about Sound Therapy benefits. Jessica Cross is a certified sound practitioner and creator of Sound for Stress, a heart-centered business that helps stressed souls come home to themselves through the power of sound, yoga, and meditation. Julie owns and helped start Soul Strong Yoga. Soul Strong is one of the few locally owned fitness centers that stayed in business during the pandemic. This is because they have a lot of clients and can make virtual content quickly. We learn how sound therapy works on a deep level, influencing our brainwaves, nervous system, and energy centers, and how it can be used to address a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual issues, including stress, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, and more. What is the Vagus Nerve and how is that important? Overall, this episode offers a compelling exploration of sound therapy and its potential to heal, inspire, and transform.

Episode 134: How Horses Can Help You Heal

w/ Shannon and Chris

In this episode, Shannon and Chris from Joshua Tree California, owner of Mustang Sanctuary Ranch, talk about how horses help humans heal. Chris shares what he does with the beautiful wild mustang population and how his ranch operates. Although he runs a Mustang rescue ranch, and they predominantly focus on Mustang rescues, but they do have a couple other horses there. He’s just doing as much as he can to make sure that he put his best foot forward in educating and getting awareness out there about what these animals are going through and hoping that we can open our doors to as many as possible. He then shares how horses help us heal, just to kind of give an idea of what the healing magic for horses is, they say a human's heart rate or heart energy emanates, six feet and horse’s is 8 feet. So as soon as you even get anywhere near these horses, they feel you and in turn that energy, the “unseen force” as Chris calls it, calls out to the horse, good or bad. It can be such a calming spiritual force that it relaxes you all the way up until the point where your heart rate starts to come down to match the horse's heart rate. So it's very good for stress reduction and anxiety reduction. It's even bigger when you get on the horse because when you get on the horse they're literally able to imitate your heartbeat and then bring it down.

Episode 133: Evicting the Inner Mean Girl

—w/ Shannon and Lizzy

In this episode, Shannon and Lizzy talk about how we can evict the inner mean girl. What Lizzy’s been doing over the past five years or so is empowering women with this whole suite of tools to have the body that they love. — Exploring Love, Passion and More with Shannon & Leola

Shannon talks with guest Leola on her work within love, passion, intimacy and more.

Leola is a Sacred Intimacy Mentor & Muse, inspiring others to see an integration of sexuality and spirituality. She guides individuals and couples in discovering how life-force energy moves in the body; and more importantly, how to harness this inner-power for a pleasure-filled life that begins with our most intimate relationships and extends to our livelihood and our worldview.

Episode 127: Nourishing YOU with guest Suki

— Nourishing YOU with guest Suki, w/ Shannon, and Suki.

Shannon and guest Suki have an in-depth discussion on how Suki got started in the retreat world, why her cooking is special, and some points of why retreats are so important.

An Austin native, and Richardson resident, Suki wears many hats and even has a few aliases (some lovingly know her as Jenn). In a former life, she discovered Dallas by way of kitchens dabbling in a variety of cuisines from healthful farm-to-market to upscale restaurants.

At the end of a tough 2020, she found reprieve in her first retreat experience and was inspired to leave the evolving restaurant industry to host others. She is passionate about many things-though hospitality, honest food, and physical well-being top the list.  Her hospitality experience combined with over a decade of practicing yoga is the foundation of Four Dimensions. Her goal is to create a sacred space for guests & instructors to come together and explore the Four Dimensions of wellbeing.

“I really started to see a need in this mid lifetime for women and beyond, where women have spent so much time nurturing their families, their jobs, and their aging parents. I felt like there just needed to be some sort of support. I've developed online courses, which I offer now that I coach women through. And I've been able to add retreats, which I really feel like for me is a complete full-circle moment. “

“It's not easy when you start changing because people around you are like they like how you are. And when you start speaking up, it's a little challenging.”

Running the ranch isn’t without challenges. While we do love it, there are days when it can be hard and overwhelming- and it can be easy to get stuck in that headspace.

In this episode, we share how we are learning to respond and stay positive even when things don’t go as planned or when life throws us curveballs. And how we’re learning to balance one another as partners working alongside each other.

We look back at why we built the ranch, why we started this journey, and why it’s all worth it in the end.

  • Enjoying the ride even if things are hard.
  • How we resolve issues that come up at the ranch.
  • Balancing each other as partners (sometimes).
  • Remembering why we started and why we’re doing this.

“I put love in, you've put love in, we've put our heart and soul in building the ranch. And people feel that and that is what this is about, which is so fucking cool.”

“This is what we wanted, this is where we want to be, and this is what we wanted to do. This is like our love child. Everything about this is for our kids, our grandkids, the amazing people that come to the ranch. So that they could feel something different than what the world is offering.”
